On the Hook

Updated from yesterday

Anchored off Cumberland. Only 4 other boats in anchorage with us; 2 are trawlers.

On the way over to island in dingy, an inbound Trident submarine passed on the way to sub base. Those sailors have been at sea from 3-6 months.

Some years ago, I went aboard the USS Kentucky and trust me, those vessels are huge but offer little in the way of comforts. They are designed with one mission in mind; t0 strike at the heart of an enemy.

We made is over to the beach on Cumberland and as normal, we had the place to our selves. We did find one casualty, a dead sea turtle.
We looked for the white deer but saw none. We did spot a few turkeys and wild horses.

Last nights sleep was not so good. The wind was out of the SE and with an incoming tide, water pounded the stern of the boat. So I was up and down throughout the night. I hope that the wind we die down today. Highs are forecast to be near 90 so an afternoon thunderstorm would not surprise me if the sea breeze kicks in.

More later
